ArDan Construction is hiring an Draftsman in North Phoenix, Arizona to join our growing design-build remodeling team in North Phoenix, Arizona.

If you have experience creating construction drawings, permit sets, and 3D renderings using Chief Architect, and enjoy turning design concepts into buildable plans, we'd love to meet you.

YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST 2 YEARS OF EXPIERENCE WORKING WITH CHIEF ARCHITECT SOFTWARE!

This position plays a critical role in transforming client design concepts into detailed construction documents that allow our production team to execute luxury residential remodeling projects with confidence.

What You'll Be Responsible For

As our Residential Draftsman, you'll convert design concepts into complete construction documents while supporting our permitting process and production team.

Project Review & Site Documentation

• Participate in project handoff meetings with the sales and design teams
• Visit project sites to capture Matterport scans, photographs, and field measurements
• Create accurate as-built drawings of existing structures
• Document existing conditions for remodeling projects

Construction Documents

Develop complete permit-ready drawing sets including:

• Floor plans
• Demolition plans
• Electrical plans
• Electrical schematics
• Plumbing plans
• Plumbing schematics
• Roof plans
• Framing details
• Elevations
• Sections
• Construction details
• Cabinet layouts
• Finish details
• Tile layouts
• Lighting layouts

Design & Visualization

• Produce detailed drawings using Chief Architect
• Create realistic 3D renderings for client presentations
• Generate cabinet layouts using 2020 Design software
• Assemble professional client-facing presentation packages
• Ensure construction documents accurately reflect approved designs

Permitting & Project Coordination

• Coordinate with structural engineers, civil engineers, and soils engineers
• Submit permit packages to municipalities and HOAs
• Track permit status through approval
• Address plan review comments as needed
• Coordinate revisions with design and engineering teams

Production Support

• Review project documents with production before construction begins
• Attend pre-construction meetings
• Participate in critical milestone meetings including:
• Pre-rough inspections
• Tile layout meetings
• Flooring meetings
• Field coordination meetings
• Answer construction questions from field personnel
• Revise drawings when necessary

Continuous Improvement

• Participate in project debrief meetings
• Help improve drafting standards and workflows
• Provide constructive feedback that strengthens future projects
• Maintain organized digital project files

Requirements/Preferred Qualifications

• Required
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience using Chief Architect software
• Experience producing residential construction documents
• Experience creating permit-ready plan sets
• Strong understanding of residential construction methods
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience reading architectural and structural drawings
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Preferred

• Experience with Matterport cameras and software
• Experience with 2020 Design cabinet software
• Residential remodeling experience
• Experience coordinating permits with municipalities
• Experience working with engineers and consultants
• Knowledge of Arizona residential building codes
• Experience in luxury residential remodeling

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain seated while working at a computer for extended periods
• Ability to travel to local job sites as needed
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
• Ability to safely navigate active construction sites
