Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. Duties
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and bathing needs.
- Help with mobility and transportation to appointments or activities.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed, ensuring changes are communicated to healthcare professionals.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks.
- Support clients with medication reminders and adherence to prescribed health regimens.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams, including nurses and therapists, to deliver comprehensive care.
Experience
- Previous experience in personal care or related fields such as geriatrics, medical-surgical care, or critical care is preferred.
- Knowledge of physiology and understanding of various medical conditions is beneficial.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities or those in hospice care settings is a plus.
- Experience using electronic health record systems like Cerner is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to work independently while also being part of a collaborative healthcare team.
