What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shift Coordinator-Paint Line position at Arconic?
LEADERSHIP PERFORMANCE:
- Uphold the Lancaster Operations “PEOPLE VALUE AND POLICY ON DIVERSITY IN THE WORKPLACE”
- Ensure safety, environmental, and quality procedures are followed at all times.
- Observe and report to the Operations Leader any concerns and/or problems associated with the accomplishment of Plant objectives.
- Help chain for the Team Support and the Team, assisting in EHS activities, quality issues, problem solving, and connection issues as well as maintaining a support presence on the floor.
- Focus on small to medium sized tactical projects in the areas of safety, recovery improvement and production.
- Serve as a guide to the Team in the absence of the Team Support, as determined by the needs of the team. Input, modify and approve Work Brain entries on a daily basis.
PRODUCTION SYSTEMS: (What are all the essential functions of this job?)
- Ensure all preparation for planned maintenance events is communicated and complete.
- Approve daily facility logs, QMR’s, and performance data; participate in the analysis of performance data.
- Attend and provide production updates during Daily Management Meetings as directed by the area.
- Create work requests in Oracle.
- Monitors the flow of metal in the department by ensuring metal rotation, verifying coil temperatures, proper coil storage locations, delivering machine schedules, and delivering PCP’s and metal samples to next process. Provides all operating supplies to the team and monitors current supply inventory levels to avoid stock outs.
TEAM DEVELOPMENT:
- Provide feedback to Operations Leader and team members on team performance.
- Serves as a Star Point Leader for a designated Star Point role as guided by the Operations Leader.
- Gain proficiency in Team meeting roles and support the Team Charter.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Communicate information to team members and with others (on team, across shifts, and across departments) as needed for successful completion of work.
- Participate in, accept and support consensus decisions of the team. Engage with team members to resolve team member conflicts as directed by the team’s conflict resolution model.
RISK MANAGEMENT:
- Report any problems, start-up issues or abnormal conditions to Operations Leader.
- Actively participate in Human Performance activities to identify High Risk Tasks every shift.
- Help chain for the team as defined by the team RACI chart. Support the team in investigating EHS incidents, pulling the help chain as defined by EHS and Area procedures.
OTHER NECESSARY FUNCTIONS:

- Performs other duties as requested by management.
- Apply all ABS and HP tools in daily tasks.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years of manufacturing experience
- Able to work rotational shift schedule
- Able to work overtime, when necessary
- Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Operate mobile equipment as necessary
- Experience with AS400 and Oracle preferred
- Strong mechanical and process aptitude preferred
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and complete tasks on-time
- Able to work flexible hours as required
