Position Summary
The International Tax Manager will serve as the company’s internal subject-matter expert for non-U.S. taxation, managing outsourced compliance across multiple countries and ensuring consistent global tax reporting. This role requires deep technical knowledge of value-added tax (VAT), global indirect tax rules, and foreign income tax regulations, along with strong skills in coordinating with international advisors and internal stakeholders. This role will partner with external tax advisors to ensure accuracy and efficiency while providing internal leadership on cross-border tax matters and strategic planning.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary liaison between the company and external advisors handling foreign income tax filings, US taxation of foreign operations (Pillar II, Subpart F, BEAT, GILTI, E&P), transfer pricing documentation, and VAT/GST compliance across all international jurisdictions.
- Review all outsourced filings and calculations, ensuring accuracy, consistency with company policies, and compliance with local regulations.
- Manage the VAT/GST registration and filing process for each country, ensuring timely remittances and appropriate documentation for recoverable input VAT.
- Monitor global nexus and permanent establishment exposure, coordinating with external tax advisors to assess filing obligations and minimize risk.
- Partner with Finance and Accounting teams to ensure proper indirect tax coding and reconciliation within the ERP system.
- Review and maintain transfer pricing policies and intercompany agreements in alignment with OECD guidelines and local regulations.
- Assist with tax provision calculations and ensure proper accounting for foreign income taxes in consolidated financial statements under U.S. GAAP.
- Research and analyze international tax law changes and treaties that may impact the company’s operations or expansion plans.
- Manage foreign income tax and VAT/GST audits.
- Support cross-border M&A activity, due diligence, and integration efforts related to international tax structure and compliance.
- Identify and implement process and technology improvements to increase efficiency, visibility, and control over global tax processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA required
- 6–10 years of international tax experience, including exposure to VAT/GST and foreign income tax compliance.
- Background in both public accounting and multinational corporate tax department preferred.
- Strong understanding of OECD principles, transfer pricing, and global tax reporting frameworks.
- Experience managing relationships with external advisors across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, JD Edwards, SAP) and tax technology tools for indirect and global compliance.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic, global environment.
