About Us
Architectural Glass Industries, LLC is a full-service glass tempering, manufacturing, and fabrication company specializing in shower enclosures, railings, custom glass, and architectural glass products. We work with contractors, glass shops, designers, builders, and homeowners throughout Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island, and the surrounding region.
We are looking for a strong customer service professional with inside sales potential who can communicate clearly, stay organized, learn technical products, and follow through with customers from start to finish.
Position Summary
This is an office-based customer service, estimating, and inside sales support role. This is not an outside sales position.
The right candidate will be comfortable speaking with customers, following up on quotes and orders, asking the right questions, learning technical product details, and helping keep work moving through the office.
We are looking for someone proactive, detail-oriented, professional, and able to work with urgency. The ideal candidate takes ownership, stays organized, communicates well, and does not need to be constantly reminded to follow up.
Experience with glass, construction, building materials, estimating, measurements, drawings, or CAD is a strong plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
Responsibilities
Customer Service & Office Support
- Answer phones and emails in a professional and helpful manner
- Assist customers with quote requests, order questions, lead times, product information, and general follow-up
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding order status, delivery timing, missing information, and next steps
- Maintain accurate customer notes, quote history, order details, and internal documentation
- Coordinate with CAD, production, quality control, and management to keep customer work moving
- Help ensure customer requests are followed through on in a timely and organized manner
Estimating & Technical Support
- Assist with product quotes, order entry, and basic estimating
- Review customer measurements, drawings, photos, and specifications
- Ask follow-up questions to clarify customer needs before orders move forward
- Learn AGI’s glass products, fabrication options, hardware, shower enclosure details, and internal order process
- Create or assist with basic layouts, markups, or technical notes when needed
Inside Sales & Customer Follow-Up
- Follow up on open quotes, active customers, and potential opportunities
- Help keep customers engaged through phone and email communication
- Identify customer needs and communicate opportunities to management
- Support customer retention by being responsive, organized, and reliable
- Help prepare simple weekly updates on open quotes, customer concerns, follow-ups, and sales opportunities
Qualifications
Required
- Strong customer service experience
- Professional phone and email communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple open items at once
- Comfortable with measurements, fractions, decimals, and technical information
- Able to learn products, processes, and customer needs quickly
- Proactive attitude with strong follow-through
- Strong sense of urgency and ownership
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced office and manufacturing environment
- Able to communicate well with customers, office staff, shop employees, and management
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
Strong Plus
- Experience in glass, construction, building materials, millwork, cabinetry, countertops, hardware, or a related trade
- Experience with estimating, quoting, order entry, or inside sales
- Ability to read drawings, sketches, blueprints, or shop drawings
- Basic CAD experience, including AutoCAD, DraftSight, or similar programs
- Bilingual English/Spanish
