The HR Generalist will report to and partner with the Area HR Manager. This position will provide HR support for various levels of management and colleagues within the Lincoln, NE. plant.

The HR Generalist will report to and partner with the Area HR Manager. This position will provide HR support for various levels of management and colleagues within the Lincoln, NE. plant.
Position Responsibilities:
- Support recruitment efforts by collaborating with the Talent Acquisition COE and plant teams, including scheduling interviews, coordinating feedback and ensuring candidates are prepared for onboarding and new hire orientation.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with plant leadership and union representatives to provide effective HR guidance and support.
- Promote safety programs and policies to drive engagement and reinforce a culture of safety.
- Partner with leadership to develop workforce planning strategies and knowledge transfer processes that strengthen current and future bench strength and support succession planning.
- Promote consistent understanding and application of policies, procedures, and practices through training, coaching, and clear communication.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer or to assist in getting information for human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Attends and participates in employee relations matters, including disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations.
- Support union-related processes, including grievance handling and contract interpretation.
- Assist with plant staffing needs, including managing the bidding process in union environments.
- Provide feedback, coaching and support for Performance Excellence and other development programs.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and drive results.
- Ability to build trust, influence others, and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related systems.
- Associate’s degree in Business, Human Resource or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ work experience in a manufacturing environment, union experience preferred.
- Ability to access and navigate all areas of the facility.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds occasionally.
