Duties
- Oversee personal care, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Providing self-administration of medications safely following prescribed instructions and maintaining accurate medication records
- Monitor vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure client health and safety
- Assist with meal preparation and hydration to promote proper nutrition
- Support clients with mobility aids such as walkers or wheelchairs to prevent falls and injuries, if you are at that location
- Engage clients in social activities and companionship to promote mental well-being
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by encouraging and performing housekeeping tasks, including cleaning personal spaces and common areas
- Document care activities accurately using paper logs
- Communicate effectively with family members, healthcare professionals, and support teams to coordinate care plans
- Provide care, employing behavior management techniques tailored to individual needs
- Support residents in living in supported group home settings with their daily routines
- Drive clients to appointments or errands when required, ensuring safe transportation
Requirements
- Prior experience in home care, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable
- Knowledge of ADLs assistance techniques and encouragement
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification before the first day is expected.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory impairments such as dementia, or mental disabilities
- Ability to perform vital signs monitoring accurately and responsibly, provide self-administration of medications following prescribed protocols and plan of care
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client outings or appointments
- Ability to assist clients with transferring safely when necessary
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, or overnight shifts as needed
- Compassionate attitude combined with patience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to caregiving

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
