Position Overview
The Associate Superintendent for Secondary Schools is a key leader within the Department of
Catholic Education and Faith Formation, responsible for the guidance, support, and strategic
advancement of Catholic secondary schools. This role ensures excellence in academic programming,
leadership effectiveness, and Catholic identity across secondary schools, as well as operational
vitality across both elementary and secondary schools.
Key Responsibilities
Based at the Archdiocese of New Orleans Administrative Office with regular travel to schools.
Evening, weekend and overnight commitments required.

The Associate Superintendent for Secondary Schools is a key leader within the Department of
Catholic Education and Faith Formation, responsible for the guidance, support, and strategic
advancement of Catholic secondary schools. This role ensures excellence in academic programming,
leadership effectiveness, and Catholic identity across secondary schools, as well as operational
vitality across both elementary and secondary schools.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with and support secondary school leaders
- Collaborate with and support elementary school leaders and pastors with operational vitality
- Promote rigorous, faith-integrated academic programs and continuous improvement
- Strengthen Catholic identity aligned with Church teaching and NSBECS
- Support governance models and advisory board formation
- Lead initiatives advancing operational vitality across all schools
- Support strategic planning and improvement
- Handle all secondary education related issues (LHSAA, high school admissions, etc.)
- Collaborate across archdiocesan offices and contribute to system-wide strategy
- Practicing Catholic in good standing
- Master's degree required; Doctorate preferred
- Minimum 10 years leadership in Catholic secondary education
- Strong instructional, operational, and organizational leadership
- Knowledge of Catholic school governance and Church teaching
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
