Position Overview
We are seeking educators for various disciplines who will:
- Embrace and promote the Truth, Goodness, and Beauty of the Catholic faith in their teaching and interactions.
- Teach their subject area with excellence, integrating the Catholic intellectual tradition and classical pedagogy.
- Inspire a love for learning and foster a disciplined, dynamic classroom environment rooted in virtue and respect.
- Collaborate with colleagues and administration to strengthen the Classical identity of the school and support interdisciplinary initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Hold a degree in their field of expertise (advanced degrees preferred).
- Have familiarity with Classical education and/or a strong understanding of the Trivium.
- Demonstrate fidelity to the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church and actively live as a witness to Christ.
- Exhibit strong communication and organizational skills, along with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Possess specific skills relevant to their discipline (e.g., Latin, history, theology, music, etc.).
Depending on the discipline, applicants with the following background are highly desired:
- Latin: Knowledge of ecclesiastical, medieval, and patristic tradition; experience with varied curriculum.
- History: Background in Classics, Theology, or Sacred Music with a passion for presenting history through the lens of a Catholic worldview.
- Music: Training in vocal pedagogy, piano/organ skills, and sacred music, with familiarity in Gregorian chant, polyphony, and hymnody.
- Mathematics: A strong foundation in mathematical principles, with the ability to teach students to recognize the inherent order, logic, and beauty in mathematics as a reflection of God’s creation. Experience with classical approaches to teaching mathematics is preferred.
- Science: A deep understanding of the natural sciences and their connection to the Catholic understanding of creation. The ability to integrate scientific inquiry with faith and cultivate wonder in students is essential.
- Literature: Expertise in classical and modern literature, with the ability to inspire students to appreciate the timeless truths and moral insights found in great works. Familiarity with Catholic literary traditions and the Western canon is highly desirable.
