Immaculate Conception is looking for an innovative, energetic, and driven teacher who has experience teaching Middle Science and possesses great social-ability and timeliness in duties and responsibilities. This candidate will be dedicated to their craft, the love for teaching!

- The teacher must have & will be responsible for:
- Proper certification by the Michigan Department of Education
- Catechist certification preferred
- Certified to teach middle school Science (grades 6-8)
- Teaching 6th grade ELA, Writing, Grammar with rigor following the A.O.D. curriculum.
- Teaching 6th grade Religion following the A.O.D. curriculum.
- Teaching 6th grade Social Studies following the A.O.D. standards
- Supports strong writing curriculum both foundational and advanced.
- Displays a high degree of knowledge in the subject matter assigned and is continuously upgrading competence.
- Create differentiated lessons that can reach all learners
- Organizes learning activities to provide varied classroom experiences that are congruent with educational goals, objectives and Catholic Faith.
- Establishes effective relationships with students and models respect for, and acceptance of, all persons in the Catholic middle school setting.
- Establishes effective relationships with parents, community and other staff members.
- Maintains professional ethics and responsibilities including participation in the total school program, curriculum development and building committees, and provides a positive role model for students.
- Knowledge and use of SMART technology, iPads and online programs
- Coordinator for annual Science offerings for the school (Science Fair, Science 3rd party programming
- Other job duties as assigned by the principal

- Starting each class with a prayer
- Actively participating in Liturgies and Prayer Services
- Upholding a moral code consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church and the mission of the school
- Actively participating in one’s own faith community
- Engaging in our faculty community through mutual support and encouragement
All teachers in the Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Detroit shall be certified and /or approved for teaching by the Department of Education for the State of Michigan. All teachers are required to hold the appropriate endorsement for the subject(s) they are assigned to teach. All teachers who are catechist,(teachers of religion), must be certified by the Department of Evangelization, Catechesis and Schools.
