Primary Function
The Director of Engagement is a mission-driven professional who equips parishioners for Gospel service, oversees evangelization and hospitality efforts, and fosters authentic Christian community. This role integrates the Detroit Model of Evangelization—encounter, grow, witness—and supports parishioners in discerning their charisms for ministry.

Qualifications
- A practicing Catholic with a deep love for the Catholic Church
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Catechetics, or related field (preferred)
- Knowledge of parish life and renewal strategies (Forming Intentional Disciples, Divine Renovation, Amazing Parish)
- Mission-driven, creative problem solver
- Familiar with Unleash the Gospel, Vatican II, USCCB documents
Preferred Relevant Experience
- Working knowledge of graphic design, video editing, website management, social media management and CRM experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Data analysis and CRM management
- Organizational and leadership abilities
- Flexible schedule availability
- Digitally intuitive and willing to learn AOD marketing strategies
- Understanding of conversion thresholds and discipleship development

- Strong personal prayer and sacramental life
- Passion for making disciples and parish renewal
- Inspirational leadership aligned with Detroit Model of Evangelization
- Charisms may include: Administration, Discernment, Evangelism, Helps, Hospitality, Leadership, Teaching
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise coordinators for: communications ministry placement, evangelization, hospitality and ecumenism
Programs & Activities
- Lead charism discernment programs (e.g., Called and Gifted)
- Develop outreach and engagement initiatives (e.g., Walk With One Fellowship, Rescue)
- Increase Eucharistic Adoration and monthly Family events
- Support St. Valentine School’s digital marketing and enrollment efforts
- Attend parish/community events (evenings/weekends)
- Respond to inquiries and foster parishioner relationships
- Manage CRM systems (e.g., Flocknote), parish databases, and digital signage
- Assist with Family bulletin creation and distribution
Communications
- Execute digital and print marketing strategies
- Manage parish calendars, announcements, social media, and email campaigns
- Maintain website and community hub content
- Create youth engagement marketing plans (middle–high school)
Administration
- Serve on Family Leadership Team (as needed)
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers
- Assessing of ministry effectiveness
- Prepare and manage annual budget for Engagement & Evangelization
- Provide strategic direction and support to Moderator/One Pastor
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
