Responsible for providing secretarial and related office services for the pastor and members of the parish. Work hours are typically Monday through Thursday, 8 AM – 3 PM. (Negotiable) at the parish offices in Methuen.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Receptionist: greets visitors to the office, answers the phone, records messages accurately, and responds to routine inquiries in a timely manner (referring matters to parish staff and ministerial leaders as needed).
- Parish scheduling: accepts and records Mass intentions, appointments, baptism and funeral requests, and events as approved by the Pastor or Administrator. Schedules volunteer ministers for Mass as needed.
- Prepares and submits the parish’s weekly bulletin for publication.
- Opens, sorts, and distributes incoming mail and other delivered materials.
- Maintains parish sacramental registers, parishioner registrations, parish volunteer records, financial contribution records, and parish statistics as required.
- Coordinates the handling of financial contributions to the parish and special collections according to the policies of the Archdiocese of Boston and IRS requirements.
- Monitors and orders office and church supplies (assisted by other staff and volunteers).
- Provides clerical and administrative support to parish staff as needed (preparing or managing correspondence, bulk mailings, notices, etc.).
- Maintains a professional, neat, and efficient office environment.
- Attends staff meetings and records meeting minutes as needed (occasionally).
Key qualifications:
- Active member of a Roman Catholic parish community, in good standing.
- College degree preferred.
- 3-5 years in a general office setting with administrative experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365/Office software, Adobe Express or equivalent publishing software, and general use of computers and printing equipment.
- Skilled in office management, spoken and written communication, hospitality, and maintaining confidentiality.
- Spanish language skills desired but not required.
Physical requirements:
- Able to work at a computer for up to 7 hours/day (with breaks).
- Able to sit for up to 7 hours/day (with breaks).
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds.
