Key Responsibilities
Surface Finishing Operations
- Perform finishing processes including:
- Blasting
- Tumbling
- Buffing
- Polishing
- Grinding
- Cleaning
- Hand filing
- Select the proper abrasives and finishing methods to achieve required surface finishes.
- Identify customer finish requirements from blueprints, prints, and specifications.
- Perform in-process inspections and accurately document results.
- Use precision measurement equipment including:
- Calipers
- Micrometers
- Height gages
- Optical comparators
- Pin gages
- Functional gages
- Verify dimensions and quality requirements throughout the manufacturing process.
- Read and interpret job travelers, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
- Identify special process requirements and customer specifications.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Participate in team-based activities and support production schedules.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous finishing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using precision inspection and measuring tools.
- Basic blueprint reading skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to complete required manufacturing and quality documentation.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Understanding and ability to follow quality system requirements and manufacturing procedures.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Experience using computers in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in medical device, aerospace, machining, or other precision manufacturing industries.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, including shifts up to 12 hours.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Vision and hearing correctable to standard levels.
