Responsibilities And Accountabilities
- Prepare quotations, bind business, offer product recommendations and risk transfer solutions to clients. Particular emphasis on assessing risk and reaching premium goals as determined by the division head, within parameters, to both sustain the profitability of our business and meet growth objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships and credibility with sales force and external constituents.
- Continually develop and share your industry knowledge and educate our expanding sales force on pricing principles and methods.
- Contribute recommendations and support to initiatives focused on improving processes, procedures and practices.
- Perform analyses using a range of productivity and analytical tools to analyze historical performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with both internal and external constituents
- Strong computer skills needed with proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Word
- Knowledge of Healthcare line of business and medical malpractice liability insurance principles with understanding of liability insurance contract.
- Ability to effectively assess risk and make sound Underwriting decisions
- Experience with broker relationships
- Superior skills in relationship building, active listening, needs analysis, and negotiation skills
- Possess strong organizational skills to prioritize multi-tasking and time management
- Strategic thinking and decision-making skills
- The preferred candidate will possess a 4-year BA/BS degree, ideally with a major/concentration in Business, Economics or Management.
- The preferred candidate will have 2-4 years of underwriting experience with a focus on medical malpractice and umbrella liability coverages for various types of healthcare facilities (hospitals, surgery centers, clinics, labs, home health care, etc.).
- Consideration will also be given to candidates with comparable underwriting experience handling casualty and non-medical professional liability coverages.
- CPCU, RPLU or other insurance course work recommended.
$95,000 - $125,000/year
- Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
