Job Summary: 

 

The Cook oversees the daily preparation, execution, and quality of our bar bites menu. This role is responsible for managing all food production during service hours, maintaining kitchen organization and cleanliness, and ensuring menu items are prepared consistently and efficiently.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently while maintaining high standards for food quality, safety, and presentation.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute all menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Manage daily food preparation, including ingredient prep, portioning, and stocking.
  • Ensure food quality, consistency, and timely ticket execution during service.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate ordering needs to management.
  • Receive, inspect, and properly store deliveries.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • Keep kitchen equipment, workstations, and storage areas clean and organized.
  • Minimize food waste through proper inventory rotation and portion control.
  • Assist with menu updates, specials, and recipe development as needed.
  • Open and close the kitchen according to established procedures.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with front-of-house staff and management.

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of professional kitchen or line cook experience preferred.
  • Experience preparing appetizers, small plates, bar food, or similar menu offerings.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Food Handler Certification preferred (or ability to obtain upon hire).
