What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential and Program Supervisor La Entrada (Corrales) position at ARCA?
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations, staff assignments and overall support services for individuals with intellectual, developmental and cognitive disabilities (IDCD) receiving services at La Paloma.
- Observes, supervises and aids in training individuals with IDCD in a vocational setting.
- Ensures program goals and objectives for individuals receiving services and various greenhouse deadlines are adhered to.
- Assists QIDP’s in preparation of individual service plans (ISPs) and other documents as required.
- Assists with vocational and leisure activities.
- Works with the Division Director and IDT to develop and implement positive behavior support plans for individuals receiving services as necessary.
- Reports on the progress of individuals receiving services to appropriate sources and assists in the ISP development process.
- Oversee the general management of the Corrales home to ensure compliance with ICF/MR licensure and quality assurance standards.
- Trains and monitors the direct teaching staff to implement and document the progress of individual programs and to evaluate and design the teaching strategies
- Financial: Manages household financial accounts and allowance accounts for individuals served.
- Recordkeeping: Maintains household and files/records for individuals served.
- Health, Safety and Wellness: Oversees general household maintenance and administers the facility safety program. Implements health and wellness activities for individuals receiving services. Models appropriate nutrition, exercise, and healthy lifestyle choices while working with individuals receiving services.
- Health and Safety Reports/Documentation: Reports all incidents of job-related work injuries/incidents or driving incidents using ARCA’s Accident Investigation system on SharePoint. Reports knowledge of staff medical situations or domestic violence situations to the Benefits Administrator or HR Director immediately. Reports knowledge of any sexual or other harassment situations to the HR Director immediately.
- On-Call: Provides and schedules on-call coverage as needed.
- Timesheets/Mileage: Reviews and submits accurate timesheets and mileage forms.
- Training: Completes required orientation training and on-going in-service training in accordance with ARCA policy on training.
i. Attends training as available to enhance supervisory skills.
ii. Seeks out and participates in professional development opportunities to enhance professional growth.
iii. Provides information, guidance and skill training to ARCA management and direct support staff regarding areas of expertise.
iv. Ensures supervised staff meet all training requirements within specified time periods.
- Abuse/Neglect/Emergency Situations: Treats individuals served with dignity and respect at all times. As required by law, reports all suspected instances of abuse, neglect, exploitation, environmental hazard, suspicious injury and/or injury of unknown origin to the appropriate authorities in accordance with ARCA policies and procedures.
- Certified AWMD: This position requires the manager to become AWMD certified with one month of taking the position. This position is required to pass meds when no other staff is available to do so.
- HIPAA Compliance & Confidentiality: Has full access to Protected Health Information (PHI) to carry out job responsibilities in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ARCA policies and procedures on confidentiality.
- Emergencies: May provide supports to the team or individuals during emergency situations.
Requires mobility to observe, supervise, and assist individuals with daily activities, including walking support, personal care, lifting or transferring from wheelchairs, and physical intervention per the Mandt System. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
Work occurs in ICF/MR homes, medical offices, employment sites, and standard office settings, with regular travel to appointments and outings. Must work independently and as part of a team.
Requires strong skills in organizing work, setting priorities, problem solving, and meeting deadlines. Must communicate effectively with individuals who have limited or no speech. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, recording data, completing monthly reports, maintaining records, and supervising staff.
Driving: Must have a current valid NM Driver’s License, a good driving record and the use of an insured, enclosed vehicle.
High school diploma or GED preferred; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working with intellectual, developmental and cognitive disabilities in a residential setting preferred.
