Job Title: Regional Manager
Reports To: General Manager
Job Overview The Regional Manager plays a critical leadership role by aligning branch operations and sales execution to drive regional performance. Success in this role requires a balanced focus on both functions—ensuring they work in harmony to meet customer needs, deliver value, and fuel profitable growth.
This position is responsible for the overall performance of a defined geographic region, which includes multiple branch locations. The Regional Manager ensures consistent execution across stores, drives profitable sales growth, reinforces operational excellence, and upholds Arc3’s strong safety culture.
Regional Managers are expected to be active in the field. Their presence ensures they stay connected to frontline realities—understanding how decisions made across the company affect branch execution and customer experience. They lead their teams by coaching for performance, removing roadblocks, and driving consistent results. In collaboration with internal support teams, they work to remove barriers, accelerate execution, and ensure success across their region.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safety and Culture
- Promote an interdependent safety culture where employees actively look out for one another and take shared ownership for creating a safe work environment.
- Reinforce safety behaviors through field leadership, team engagement, and proactive identification of potential hazards.
- Model and support Arc3’s values of trust, responsiveness, reliability, and technical competence.
- Foster clean, organized, professional, and customer-ready store environments that reflect Arc3 standards.
- Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the region and Arc3.
2. Sales Growth and Market Development
- Coach Outside Sales Representatives to protect existing business by reinforcing service expectations, addressing risks proactively, signing supply agreements, and strengthening customer relationships.
- Hold reps accountable for actively managing the sales funnel—developing and progressing opportunities with discipline and urgency. Provide regular coaching and planning support to ensure they target the right prospects and follow through effectively.
- Reinforce pricing discipline and return-on-asset expectations to protect and grow margins.
- Partner with Marketing and support teams to leverage tools, campaigns, vendor programs, and training resources that enable profitable growth.
3. Operational Oversight and Execution
- Ensure store operations align with company standards for safety, efficiency, and service.
- Monitor routing, truck utilization, handheld compliance, and cylinder reconciliation.
- Lead the implementation and follow-through of tools such as Finalizer, automated replenishment, and inventory workflows.
- Drive accountability in operational execution, supporting Store Managers in achieving expectations and performance targets.
- Lead regional execution of new store openings, remodels, and major initiatives—ensuring projects are completed on time, with appropriate staffing, layout, equipment, and operational readiness.
- Integrate operational improvements that reinforce both customer satisfaction and a safe, efficient work environment.
- Accountable for ensuring vehicles are available, properly maintained, and aligned with delivery and service needs across the region.
- Partner with Purchasing to ensure inventory levels are accurate, appropriate for demand, and compliant with replenishment and stocking practices.
4. Leadership and People Development - Lead with a servant mindset—supporting your team, removing barriers to their success, and modeling behaviors that foster trust and teamwork.
- Create a high-performance environment by building trust, encouraging open debate, embracing healthy conflict, and committing to shared decisions and team goals.
- Coach, mentor, and develop Store Managers and Outside Sales Representatives to improve performance, engagement, and clarity.
- Conduct regular branch visits to assess execution, reinforce expectations, and support team development.
- Ensure team members are properly trained on operational systems, tools, safety standards, and sales process expectations.
- Maintain a strong field leadership presence, promoting communication, follow-up, and ownership of outcomes.
- Support performance conversations, talent development, onboarding, and succession planning.
5. Profitability and Accountability
- Drive year-over-year profit growth in alignment with the Regional Manager Profit Plan.
- Understand and manage controllable cost levers including staffing, truck efficiency, overtime, and inventory levels.
- Ensure timely billing, minimal credit activity, and margin-focused execution.
- Use reporting tools and performance data to identify gaps and take timely corrective action.
- Provide oversight and performance support for specific regional profit drivers, such as welder repair business operations, where applicable.

- Deliver consistent profit growth based on defined targets.
- Ensure alignment and execution of operational and sales initiatives across all locations.
- Achieve high levels of safety, customer satisfaction, and operational discipline.
- Maintain active field engagement and accountability across the team.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; College degree or technical education preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the industrial gases and/or welding supplies distribution industry.
- At least 5 years of outside sales experience and 5 years of sales or branch management experience.
- Proven record of growing profitable sales and leading high-performing teams.
- Significant customer interaction experience with a strong understanding of value-based selling.
- Accreditation in welding, metallurgy, or industrial technical fields is highly valued (e.g., CWI, CWSR, welding technology).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, TIMS, and business reporting systems.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the assigned region; regular travel required.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
