Summary/Objective

The Community Programs Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of assigned program lines for the Career Services Department. Program lines may include services related to work-readiness training, internships, preemployment education, summer work experiences, etc., for adults and/or transition-age youth with disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and/or mental health diagnoses. The Community Programs Coordinator enjoys leading a team and creating a lasting positive impact on people?s lives as they work towards community employment goals.

Essential Functions/Job Duties

  • Upholds the rights, dignity, and respect of all persons served while promoting independence and selfadvocacy skills.
  • Participates in collaborative projects and initiatives to expand community-based program opportunities.
  • Networks in the community to develop new community business partnerships.
  • Works collaboratively with fellow Community Programs Coordinators in the Career Services Department.
  • Ensures service delivery adheres to CMS, DODD, OOD, and CARF rules and regulations.
  • Provides ongoing training and mentorship to Employment Support Professionals (ESPs) to promote effective service delivery.
  • Determines ESP work schedules and/or caseload assignments.
  • Remains on-call during program hours to support ESPs and address elevated incidents.
  • Participates in enrollment and support team meetings for persons served as required.
  • Ensures adherence to program standards, goals, and objectives to ensure a quality customer experience for each person served.
  • Ensures operations meet applicable health and safety codes.
  • Ensures service assessments, reports, and related documentation are completed accurately and on time by ESPs.
  • Completes billing for program line(s) accurately and on time as assigned.
  • Provides billable service delivery and direct service coverage to persons served to meet the needs of program line(s). A specific productivity standard may be set for certain assignments.
  • Drives personal vehicle and/or agency vehicle to meet the needs of program line(s).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor?s Degree from an accredited college or university in Vocational Rehabilitation, Social Work, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least two years of experience in the disabilities field is preferred.
  • At least two years of experience providing career services, career planning, career counseling, and/or job coaching is preferred.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience is preferred

  • Must demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and possess the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude and represent the agency and persons served professionally.

Eligibility Qualifications

Required Licensure and Certifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must submit to a BCII/FBI background check and Nurses Aid & Abuser Registry check.
  • Must be able to maintain a first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio Driver?s License; meet and maintain insurability standards to drive for company business.
  • Must complete eight hours of training as required by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities upon hire.
  • Must possess and maintain a Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) credential or able to obtain a CESP after twelve months of employment.
  • Based on job assignment, passing a physical exam may be required.

Supervisory Responsibility

This role is a leadership position with direct supervising responsibility for program line(s).

Work Environment

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position must be available to provide support at other times as needed. Travel is primarily local during the business day.
