Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples and other specimens with precision and care, ensuring accurate laboratory testing and patient safety. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment, supporting patient care through expert specimen collection and laboratory procedures. Prior laboratory or clinical experience is preferred, along with strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Duties
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling using proper aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and sample integrity
- Collect, process, and label specimens accurately according to established protocols
- Prepare samples for transportation to the laboratory, ensuring proper storage and documentation
- Measure vital signs as needed and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures
- Maintain a clean, sterile environment adhering to infection control standards
- Assist with patient care activities, providing excellent patient service and reassurance during specimen collection
- Follow laboratory procedures and techniques precisely to ensure high-quality results
- Document all procedures accurately in accordance with hospital policies
- Support laboratory staff with specimen processing and related tasks as required
Requirements
- Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or clinical laboratory settings; hospital experience is a plus
- Certification or training in phlebotomy or related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and aseptic technique
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to comfort patients during blood collection
- Proficiency in venipuncture, blood sampling, and specimen handling
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Must be able to work well within a team dedicated to quality patient care
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
