Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise across various specialties, including acute and chronic care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and specialty procedures such as suturing, IV infusion, and catheterization. Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks is essential. The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive patient assessments, manage treatment plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional care in outpatient and inpatient settings. This role offers opportunities to work with diverse patient populations, including those in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, and home care environments.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments across multiple specialties including internal medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, emergency medicine, and behavioral health.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions such as acute pain, infectious diseases, respiratory issues requiring ventilator management, and post-acute care needs.
- Perform procedures including suturing, IV insertion/infusion, catheterization (urinary and vascular), spinal taps, dermal fillers, and esthetic laser treatments.
- Administer injections and medications following proper protocols while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, and eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and coding (ICD-9/10, CPT).
- Coordinate diagnostic evaluations utilizing laboratory testing and medical imaging; interpret results for diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Provide telehealth consultations leveraging telehealth experience to extend care beyond traditional settings.
- Engage in patient education on health coaching, disease management (including dementia care), nutrition counseling, family planning, discharge planning, and utilization review.
- Ensure infection control standards are maintained; follow sterile processing techniques; adhere to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Collaborate with specialists in areas such as cardiology (cardiac catheterization), ophthalmology (ophthalmology), gastroenterology (gastric lavage), nephrology (dialysis), and others to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in case management activities including discharge planning and utilization management for diverse populations such as neonatal (NICU/PICU), pediatric (pediatrics/toddler care), adult acute care (ICU/hospital medicine), senior care (memory/dementia care), hospice & palliative medicine.
Qualifications
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in relevant specialties.
- Proven experience in emergency room settings or Level I/II trauma centers preferred; ICU or hospital medicine experience highly desirable.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/10) and CPT coding required.
- Hands-on experience with procedures including suturing, phlebotomy/venipuncture, sterile technique, catheterization (urinary/vascular), spinal taps, dermal fillers; familiarity with advanced procedures like cardiac catheterization is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy; excellent clinical judgment for patient assessment across age groups from neonatal to geriatric populations.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care; experience working with diverse populations including those with developmental disabilities or memory impairments preferred.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
