In this vital role, you will provide one-on-one coaching, training, and advocacy to help clients discover their strengths, build job readiness skills, and succeed in meaningful, sustainable employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments to identify each client’s unique skills, needs, and career aspirations
- Develop individualized employment plans with clear, achievable objectives
- Provide training in job search techniques, resume writing, interviewing, and networking
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers; advocate for client placement
- Provide on-site support at community job locations, including coaching, accommodations, and skill-building
- Travel regularly throughout the community to meet with clients, employers, and partners
- Offer ongoing encouragement and problem-solving throughout the employment journey
- Minimum of four (4) years of professional or personal experience working with individuals with disabilities required
- Experience providing direct, community-based or supported employment services strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of disability rights, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Comfort working independently in community settings with minimal supervision
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required (daily travel is essential for this role)
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass a Level II background screening
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.; may involve standing, walking, bending, kneeling, driving, and computer-based tasks
