Are you passionate about helping others and making a meaningful difference in people's lives? Arc of Onondaga is seeking caring, dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in residential settings.

Whether you have experience as a caregiver, Home Health Aide (HHA), Direct Care Provider, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Personal Care Assistant (PCA), or are simply interested in pursuing a rewarding career in Human Services, we want to hear from you!

As a DSP, you will provide hands-on assistance, guidance, and encouragement to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them live fulfilling, meaningful, and increasingly independent lives.

What You'll Do

• Work with individuals to plan, coordinate, and participate in social, recreational, and community activities.

• Provide compassionate care and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a home setting.

• Help the people you support direct the course of their own lives by promoting advocacy, self-confidence, choice, and independence.

• Support the emotional, physical, and personal well-being of the people receiving services.

• Assist with daily tasks, routines, and household activities.

• Teach and reinforce important life skills, including money management, shopping, meal preparation, and maintaining a home.

• Assist with personal care and hygiene as needed.

• Encourage community participation, personal growth, and independence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Valid New York State driver's license preferred

• Prior experience in caregiving, direct support, healthcare, or human services is helpful but not required

• A compassionate, dependable, and respectful approach to supporting others

• Commitment to promoting dignity, choice, independence, and inclusion
