POSITION SUMMARY
Supervise and perform janitorial care at various Hilo-based sites, and keep them maintained in a manner that supports the contractual agreements between The Arc of Hilo and their customers. Lead will teach, train, support and mentor employees and participants with disabilities in janitorial duties: cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, windows, dusting, liner changing, etc
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Be able to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision
- Follow established safety precautions
- Perform proper techniques of floor care and preparation of areas to be cleaned, buffed, stripped or waxed as well as carpet cleaning.
- Must be able to operate and maintain all floor cleaning/finishing equipment to include but not limited to floor buffer/burnishes, water extraction machine, and carpet cleaning equipment.
- Transport equipment to and from job sites in company vehicle.
- Keep all equipment clean and well maintained.
- Work with Team Leads to facilitate access and coordinate times.
- Follow contract site specifications.
- Maintain regular attendance at work, required meetings and training sessions.
- Maintain compliance with The Arc of Hilo’s Employee Handbook and Safety Handbook.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the CS Director or other designated person(s).

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year related experience or training.
Language Skills: Must be able to read and write the English language.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and low to moderate noise levels. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock; and moving mechanical parts.
Other Requirements: Must be able to maintain an acceptable criminal abstract as determined by the company. Must be able to maintain Protective Services Central Registry clearances from Adult Protective Services (APS) Central Registry and Welfare Services (CWS) Central Registry.
