Job Summary
This is a skilled position for CNC operations. Performs more advanced duties required for the finishing & machining of metal parts. Will learn the everyday duties required to run the CNC Machining Centers to include the loading of fixture with parts, change and measure tools for the machine, inspect and verify the machining of the parts, deburring, cleaning and packaging of parts processed in the CNC Cell.
Essential Functions
Will visually inspect or use measuring devices to ensure all parts meet customer specifications and quality criteria.
Will operate the CNC machine as instructed, both productively and safely. Learns and applies material handling procedures. Must have good math skills. Learns and applies finishing processes required. Completes and maintains documentation on parts neatly and accurately. Follows instructions both written and verbal, asking questions as necessary. Accurately inputs data and information into computer system. Utilizes basic mathematical skills to track and record numeric items with accuracy and efficiency. Cross trains for the deburring, cleaning and packaging of all machined parts. Maintains the machine and operational condition to ensure quality parts are being produced. Learns to and performs the more advanced operations of setting up fixtures and tools. Performs functions of the job both sitting and standing for extended periods of time. Handles parts and tools with precision and care to insure no damage occurs. Records pertinent information regarding parts being produced on required forms. Maintains a neat and clean work environment adhering to AFT safety procedures. Perform machine maintenance and check machine functions as instructed. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other work related duties as assigned.
May perform other duties in the CNC Machining Cell as warranted by the parts to be processed. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Education, Experience, And Requirements
Able to adjust multiple work coordinate systems on a vertical machining center.
Knowledge of the manufacturing process. Working knowledge of how to use various measuring tools to ensure parts meet customer needs. Skill in following directions both verbal and written and in transferring instructions into action. Ability to work with little direct supervision. Skill in learning and applying knowledge in an efficient and accurate manner. Demonstrated skill in documenting results of work effort, including SPC and production goals. Skill in performing work which requires eye hand coordination. Visual acuity skill to detect any flaws in the parts being produced. Effective communication skill both oral and written. Willingness and ability to acquire skills to operate high tech CNC machines in an efficient, safe, and accurate manner. Willingness to stand or sit for extended periods of time in performing job duties. Adherence to AFT safety policies and procedures. Willingness and ability to work the scheduled work hours including any required overtime on weekends or otherwise assigned. WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.
