Community Hab Direct Support Professional - Community Services - Arc GLOW

We are looking for self-motivated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to teach life skills, one to one, with our individuals who reside in Livingston and Wyoming County areas. Primary roles consist of teaching individuals how to complete household tasks such as cleaning, shopping, finances, cooking, etc., as well as socialization skills. This position holds a vital role in helping individuals with intellectual disabilities to have the ability to live independently, make community connections, and to be able to continue to grow in all areas of their lives.

We are currently hiring a full time Community Hab DSP for the Supportive Living Department in Livingston & Wyoming County.

• Monday through Friday
• Mix of Day Shift and Split Shift (Day/Even)
• Saturday & Sunday Off
• Agency Holidays Off

Direct Support Professional RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Enjoy working one to one with others.
• Ability to teach others daily life skills.
• Ability to think outside of the box: new, creative, and different ideas
• Being involved with attending and scheduling outings in the surrounding area.
• Assistance with contacting individuals, programs, and/or families, as needed.
• Transports individuals with agency vehicle.
• Documents all program data accurately and timely.

Direct Support Professional SKILLS:

• Provides excellent customer service and act as a role model to others.
• Ability to effectively coach individuals to achieve success in their home and community.
• Possesses strong eye for detail.
• Possesses strong communication skills.
• Possesses computer skills.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR Direct Support Professional:

• High School Diploma, or equivalent required.
• Valid NYS driver's license with a safe driving record
