SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of the Temporary Payroll Specialist is to assist the payroll staff in the performance related to payroll processing for our US population. The incumbent will perform a variety of tasks related to payroll, including but not limited to timecard reviews, salary change calculations, data entry into the payroll system, reviewing various reporting and reconciling variances, communicating with staff in resolving payroll- related issues, and more. The Payroll Specialist will also support other cross functional projects within Finance/HR as assigned, including all reporting, both scheduled and ad hoc.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

● Reviewing, auditing, reconciling timesheets and resolving discrepancies.

● Updating employee records into the payroll system.

● Assists in the processing of payroll by verifying timecard data, recording adjustments, and reconciling

variances.

● Coordinate with Benefits Department and outside vendors for proper deductions, 401k contributions,

etc.

● Acting as the first point of contact to staff in a professional manner regarding payroll issues, pay

discrepancies, or questions about deductions.

● Ad-hoc reporting as internally and externally required.

● Ability to manage sensitive personnel information securely.

● Strong attention to detail for calculating earnings, deductions, and tax liabilities.

● Perform other related duties as assigned.


EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

● A high school diploma required; secondary education preferred

● Three plus years payroll experience (HR and Benefits experience may be considered)

● Must have experience with timekeeping and HRIS systems (UKG, Paycom, ADP, Kronos)

● Advanced knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets (Nice to have experience with Pivot tables,

XLOOKUP, Apps Script, etc)

● Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge,

skills and abilities
