Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, tractors, skid steers, and trucks for landscaping, excavation, and trail-building projects
- Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints to ensure accurate and efficient equipment use according to project specifications
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation
- Coordinate with crew members to complete projects on schedule and to company standards
- Follow all safety guidelines and regulations, including OSHA standards, to maintain a safe work environment
- Assist co-workers as needed to ensure successful project completion
- Utilize or learn relevant computer and technology skills as required for the position
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience operating equipment in landscaping, construction, masonry, utility, or public works settings
- Experience with a variety of equipment, including excavators, front-loaders, trucks, tractors, skid steers, and chippers
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints
- Mechanical aptitude for performing basic equipment maintenance and repairs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of safety practices and regulations related to equipment operation
- Reliable, punctual, and attentive to detail
- Valid drivers license
Compensation
$24 - $30 per hour, depending on experience. Overtime opportunities available. Weekly paychecks.
