Responsibilities
- Operate excavators with precision, adhering to safety protocols and project specifications to move earth, debris, and materials effectively.
- Assist with the operation of other heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, horizontal drilling rigs, and paving machinery as needed.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to execute construction plans efficiently and safely.
- Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment to prevent accidents or hazards on site.
- Support various construction activities including grading, excavation, trenching, paving preparation, and site cleanup.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, inspections, and work completed for project documentation.
Experience
- Proven experience operating excavators in a construction setting, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with other heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, horizontal drilling equipment, and paving machinery.
- Knowledge of construction site safety standards and procedures is essential.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with experience in operating heavy equipment on public roads is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction materials and processes related to civil engineering projects.
- Ability to read technical manuals and interpret blueprints or site plans is advantageous.
