Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Charge Nurse within our healthcare facility. Duties
- Assume responsibility for the overall coordination of nursing care on assigned shifts, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal patient outcomes.
- Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster professional development and teamwork.
- Conduct patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and evaluate clinical conditions to inform care planning.
- Administer medications, including IV infusions, injections, and other treatments in accordance with physician orders and safety protocols.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care activities using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including physicians, therapists, and social workers—to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans.
- Oversee infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and safety procedures to uphold regulatory compliance and promote a safe environment.
Skills
- Proven experience in diverse clinical settings including hospital medicine, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or skilled nursing facilities.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation methods relevant to acute and chronic conditions.
- Expertise in managing complex cases involving Alzheimer's care, memory care, behavioral health issues, or infectious disease management.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation and data management.
- Skilled in performing physical examinations, venipuncture (phlebotomy), catheterization, tube feeding administration, and basic life support (BLS).
- Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with disabilities requiring specialized care such as hospice or palliative services.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients’ families and multidisciplinary teams while demonstrating compassion and professionalism.
