The ideal candidate will have experience diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and traveling to job sites for onsite emergency repairs as needed.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, machinery, and fleet vehicles.
- Perform onsite emergency repairs by traveling to job sites or other locations as required.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system issues and implement solutions.
- Keep accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
- Work closely with project managers and crews to ensure equipment is operational and safe.
- Order and install replacement parts as needed, ensuring proper fit and function.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and service vehicles.
- Experience: 3 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably with heavy equipment and fleet vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical components.
- Ability to travel to job sites for emergency onsite repairs (reliable transportation provided).
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Must have a valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
- Basic computer skills for tracking repairs and maintenance records.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus.
