Uptime, safety, and productivity hinge on expert maintenance and repair. As an Industrial Floor Care & Restoration Equipment Service Technician, you’ll diagnose, service, and restore mission-critical machines for the surface-prep and commercial cleaning industries.
Core Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair systems and components across commercial cleaning, restoration, and surface-prep equipment.
- Apply testing equipment, troubleshooting guides, and manufacturer repair manuals accurately.
- Evaluate units and communicate additional service/repair needs.
- Create service orders, build bids, and present estimates.
- Schedule and manage appointments in scheduling software.
- Coordinate shop workload with other technicians and store employees.
- Order parts and coordinate with vendors for efficient turnaround.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace; use PPE at all times.
Equipment Portfolio
- Surface prep: floor scrapers, floor grinders, shot blasters
- Engines and auto: basic automotive; 2-, 3-, and 4-cylinder gas engines
- Cleaning systems: truck-mounted carpet cleaning units, portable carpet extractors, hard-surface floor cleaning machines
- Specialized: duct cleaning equipment, deodorizing equipment, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, air movers, HEPA vacuums
Customer & Team Interaction
- Communicate with customers in person, by phone, and via email.
- Assist other technicians and store staff; take direction from supervisors.
- Meet or exceed department quality and productivity targets.
Qualifications
- 2 years preferred in one or more: commercial cleaning/restoration equipment; small engine repair/maintenance; pressure washer repair/maintenance; vehicle repair/maintenance.
- Valid driver license and clean driving record (no DUIs or careless/reckless in past 3 years).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Own a basic mechanic’s tool set.
- High mechanical aptitude, strong technical skills, and precise troubleshooting.
- Consistent use of safety glasses, hearing protection, and other safety gear.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs frequently; strong time management.
- Professional demeanor; clear written and verbal communication; basic computer proficiency.
- Occasional overtime required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
