The HR Intern will provide administrative support to the Human Resources Dept., with a primary focus on employee engagement, assisting with employee files and student job fairs. The intern will also assist with onboarding new hires and other HR-related activities.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with onboarding tasks, including preparing documentation and supporting orientation
- Assist with HR administrative tasks like data entry, maintaining employee records (digital and paper), and supporting HR communications
- Maintain compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the manager.
- Support the sourcing, engagement, and onboarding of employees.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, Hospitality, or a related field; or have equivalent administrative/HR experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and general digital tools, with the ability to manage data and systems accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees, leaders, and external partners.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with accuracy.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and event days; experience in events, food & beverage.
- Must be a student at the University of Delaware.
