Project Manager Assistant (PMA)

Seeking a Project Manager Assistant with an Intermediate or Advanced level of experience in MS Excel at the Prototype, Manufacturing and Integration (PMI) Division at Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA). on-site in Huntsville, AL.

The Project Manager Assistant will provide project management support and coordination to complex contract(s), project task(s) or a business unit. This responsibility is in support of DoW projects and assisting our project managers with managing scope, budget, schedule, and deliverables. Must possess an Intermediate to Advanced level of experience in MS Excel to perform 80% of the required detail-oriented work and be well-organized and dedicated individual to coordinate and execute program tasks within cross-functional team(s) and complete all activities within required deadlines.

This position will require at minimum the ability to obtain & maintain a SECRET clearance from the US Department of War.

Seeking The Following In a Project Manager Assistant

• Must have Intermediate to Advanced level proficiency in Excel
• Experience assisting in Project management or contract’s role supporting DoW or other scientific / technical programs for scope, cost, and schedule
• Ability to provide Administrative support in: prepare/schedule meetings, presentations, logistics, annotate meeting minutes, record action items, and occasionally present information to client during regular reporting meetings
• Knowledge in Purchasing with micro-purchase orders (MPO) and purchase orders (PO)
• Assist in project scheduling using MS Project
• Assist in updating reports and any financials other reports as needed
• Ability to track annual fiscal plans and monthly updates, maintenance, and reporting
• Some experience in Contract administration and maintains contract budgets
• Assist PM’s with bill of materials
• Assists and prepares technical proposals, contract billing, estimates materials, equipment, production costs and delivery schedules
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Project
• Work requires sitting, sitting for long periods of time, pushing, pulling, standing, standing for long periods of time, reaching, grasping, bending, climbing, stooping, hold and move items with hand(s), multilimbed coordination, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, vision for close and distance and must be able to lift up to 50lbs individually, 50lbs or more with assistance
• Bachelor’s Degree and 0-2 years relevant work experience; OR In lieu of a degree, a H.S. diploma and 4 years’ experience as a Project Manager Assistant

• Active / current SECRET Clearance from the US Department of Defense
• Project Management Professional certification or equivalent
• Understanding of a manufacturing/industrial setting requires working knowledge of mechanical systems and tools
