Duties
- Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems)
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates with precision and care
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding throughout their visit
- Support physicians and nurses with clinical tasks including medication administration, wound care, and specimen collection
- Operate diagnostic equipment like X-ray machines or assist with imaging procedures when required
- Manage medical documentation accurately, including ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures to ensure proper billing and recordkeeping
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, offering reassurance, and facilitating smooth clinic flow
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics, medical-surgical practices, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room) experience, Level I & II trauma center protocols, inpatient and outpatient procedures
- Strong understanding of physiology and anatomy to support accurate assessments and procedures
- Proficiency in EHR systems for documentation and scheduling; familiarity with ICD coding is a plus
- Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) confidently to respond effectively in emergencies
- Experience with X-ray operation or assistance enhances diagnostic capabilities
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations across hospital settings or clinics
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols within hospital or outpatient environments
Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Per diem
Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
