Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of bookkeeping, including journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Utilize QuickBooks accounting software, LMN client resource management software, and other financial tools to record transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including income statements, cash flow statements, and budget variance reports for internal review and external reporting purposes.
- Oversee payroll processing and related tax filings to ensure timely and accurate employee compensation.
- Conduct governmental and non-profit accounting tasks such as grant tracking, fund accounting, and compliance reporting.
- Support budgeting processes by assisting in the preparation of budgets and monitoring expenditures against approved budgets.
- Handle administrative duties including managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, maintaining filing systems, and supporting team communication efforts.
- Assist with audit preparations by organizing financial documents and providing necessary documentation for external auditors.
- Ensure all financial transactions adhere to internal policies and regulatory standards while maintaining meticulous records for future reference.
Skills
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and non-profit accounting practices.
- Proficiency in GAAP standards, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger management.
- Knowledge of governmental accounting procedures and tax regulations related to payroll and financial reporting.
- Skilled in bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, account analysis, and budget monitoring.
- Ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently for data entry tasks.
- Familiarity with technical accounting concepts including financial report writing and account reconciliation processes.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting.
- Strong communication skills to clearly explain financial concepts and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Capable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.
