Aquent is partnering with a leading technology company seeking a hands-on IT Operations Specialist to support its Technical Operations function within a real-time Fusion Center environment.
This role is ideal for someone who combines practical systems and networking experience with strong analytical, process-mapping, and technical documentation skills. You will work directly within live operations to understand how systems, teams, and workflows interact—and help identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
What You’ll Do
- Shadow live operational activities to understand workflows, system interactions, dependencies, and escalation paths.
- Document existing technical processes within a fast-paced, real-time operations environment.
- Map end-to-end workflows and identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, gaps, and operational risks.
- Partner with Operations, DevOps, Infrastructure, Engineering, and other technical teams to improve processes.
- Develop clear process maps, standard operating procedures, workflow documentation, and improvement recommendations.
- Analyze how systems and teams work together to support mission-critical operations.
- Translate complex technical findings into clear information for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Help establish more consistent, scalable, and efficient operational practices.
- Support troubleshooting and coordination efforts involving workstations, networks, systems, web applications, and infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- Strong technical writing, documentation, and process-analysis skills.
- Excellent verbal communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to observe complex technical operations and translate them into clear, actionable documentation.
- Experience identifying workflow gaps, dependencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Hands-on experience in at least two of the following areas:
- Windows workstation support
- Real-time operations or command-center environments
- TCP/IP networking or systems administration
- Web application or infrastructure troubleshooting
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, operational partners, and business stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment supporting real-time, mission-critical systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of relevant technical operations, systems, infrastructure, or IT support experience.
- Experience working in a Network Operations Center, Security Operations Center, Fusion Center, command center, or comparable 24/7 support environment.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools, cloud diagnostics, or automation platforms.
- Experience collaborating with DevOps, Infrastructure, Systems Engineering, or Software Engineering teams.
- Background developing standard operating procedures, technical process maps, or operational improvement plans.
- Experience troubleshooting systems or infrastructure in production environments.
Work Environment
- This position is fully on-site in Las Vegas, Nevada.
- Work will be performed inside a secure facility.
- Successful completion of a background check is required.
- The environment is fast-paced and supports live, mission-critical systems.
- Candidates must be comfortable working closely with multiple technical and operational teams.
