Systems & Network Administrator

General Description

The primary responsibility of this role will be to configure, install, and support the organization’s local area network (LAN), WiFi, printers, Windows workstations, and Windows servers.  The secondary main responsibility for this role will be to manage and expand our Sage100 ERP systems running on Windows Servers in VMWare.  This position will also contribute to (Python and PowerShell) software development projects throughout the company.  This position will involve working with a wide array of technologies, and will have a voice in recommending I.T. strategy direction.  This role will also be responsible for building, maintaining, and administering the company’s core business applications: Sage, FastFetch, ProShip, and BRS-Sync.

Responsibilities

Core Business Technical Solutions

• Identify, engineer, and implement software and/or hardware solutions that improve business workflows across all departments.
• Improve and configure core business applications (Sage, FastFetch, ProShip) integration and processes.
• Design, develop, and maintain core business applications like BRS-Sync that facilitates communication between our main two core business applications (Magento and     Sage).

Operations I.T. improvements

• Identify and develop software and/or hardware solutions that improve business workflows in our Operations departments
• Improve business application (Sage, FastFetch, ProShip, and BRS-Sync) integration and processes
• Write software (in Python) that eliminates bottlenecks and improves reliability in our ERP systems

Local I.T. administration / support

• Windows network and workstation setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support
• Troubleshooting vendor applications / working with application vendors to resolve issues
• Work with existing network and workstation support vendors
• Network instability troubleshooting
• Building and maintaining documentation for I.T. processes
• Order, assemble, configure, install, and support Windows / MacOS workstations for staff
• Active Directory / Windows Domain administration
• Microsoft Outlook client support

General Responsibilities

• Perform self-directed activities to support completion of individual and team goals.
• Participate in Technology Department team meetings and other meetings and projects as needed.
• Demonstrate a commitment to BRS Core Values and EOS methodologies.
• Other duties, reports and specialized projects as needed.

Work Experience and Abilities Requirements:

• Understanding of security best practices
• With some oversight, demonstrate ability to interpret and solve tactical problems, resolving problems and issues from experience or using a variety of resources
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills - ability to write technical documentation
• Ability to present complex data in an understandable and relevant manner
• Organized, detail oriented and ability to concentrate on fine detail with interruptions
• Thrive in a self-directed/motivated entrepreneurial environment
• Demonstrated ability for planning, organizing and managing projects to meet deadlines
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Additional skills of interest:

• MSSQL database administration
• Network hardware configuration and troubleshooting experience (Cisco, Ubiquiti)
• Understanding of how DNS / WINS works
• Experience with vendor applications: Sage 100, FastFetch, ProShip
• Ability to collaborate with others using GIT revision repository system
• Some linux systems administration experience
• Software development experience on Magento eCommerce platform
• Experience administering Google GSuite
• Experience with Traction / EOS business methodology a plus

Education, Certifications and Other Requirements:

2-year Degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related field; or an equivalent combination of skills, training and experience.
