Position Summary
The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for producing, testing, and inspecting products across a variety of manufacturing processes. This position performs electronic assembly, mechanical assembly, casting, machining, and quality assurance activities while ensuring products meet company quality standards. The role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing processes, often exercising independent judgment in a lean, fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble electronic and mechanical products according to work instructions and production schedules, on time and within specifications.
- Perform soldering, crimping, cable assembly, and related manufacturing operations.
- Prepare and process molded or cast components, primarily plastics and rubbers.
- Operate, monitor, and perform routine setup adjustments on semi-automated manufacturing equipment, including CNC production lathes.
- Make routine adjustments and tooling changes to maintain product quality and process efficiency.
- Conduct functional testing, inspection, and quality assurance verification.
- Identify and troubleshoot production or equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Assist with inventory control, material handling, and workstation organization.
- Follow all safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
- Transition between multiple manufacturing processes and work assignments throughout the day while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
- Contribute to other operational needs as the company grows and evolves.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, machining, electronics production, or other hands-on technical environments.
- Experience performing detailed assembly, testing, inspection, or production activities while maintaining quality standards.
- Proficiency with common hand tools and basic measurement equipment.
- Experience with soldering, cable assembly, crimping, or other fine assembly operations.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, assembly drawings, specifications, and test procedures.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and perform a variety of manufacturing and production support activities in a small-team environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks with minimal supervision after training.

Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
- CNC setup, programming, and operation, including experience with Fagor control systems.
- Process improvement initiatives that increase quality, efficiency, throughput, or safety.
- Maintenance of work instructions, procedures, technical documentation, or training materials.
- CAD design and modification of existing designs, preferably using Autodesk Fusion (Fusion 360).
- Quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies, such as ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or Six Sigma.
Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment and will include exposure to machinery, power tools, noise, adhesives, resins, solvents, machine oils, metal chips, and other production materials. Appropriate safety equipment, procedures, and training are provided.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform manufacturing activities throughout the workday.
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, and move materials, equipment, or inventory weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to use hands and fingers for detailed assembly, soldering, crimping, testing, inspection, and packaging operations.
- Ability to distinguish colors, markings, and small visual details during assembly, inspection, and quality assurance activities.
- Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment, hand tools, and test equipment while maintaining attention to detail and situational awareness.
