AquaPhoenix Scientific, headquartered in Hanover, PA has an immediate opening for full-time Buyer. The Buyer is responsible for issuing purchase orders, requesting quotes with day-to-day sourcing and activities. It will require strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to proactively collaborate with internal and external customers/venders.
AquaPhoenix Scientific considers applicants with diverse backgrounds, education, and work experience; however, applicants for the Buyer position will frequently have a combined education and/or work experience that is a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and at least three or more years’ work experience as a Buyer; or a bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field of study.
Other key areas of responsibility include:
Procurement Management: Assist in the procurement process by sourcing suppliers, requesting quotes, and negotiating terms and pricing.
Order Processing: Prepare and process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Supplier Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers; address any issues or discrepancies that may arise.
Communication: Strong negotiation skills with a professional, ethical, and persuasive approach to communications.
Data Management: Familiarity with MRP systems to maintain accurate records related to orders, contracts, and supplier information in the procurement database.
Microsoft Office: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced level Excel skills to include formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (e.g., finance, production, logistics) to ensure seamless communication and alignment on purchasing needs.
