Interim Corporate Controller with a publicly-traded company.
The assignment will begin ASAP and is expected to last 2-3 months. This role is 3 days per week in office in Duluth with the option to work remotely 2 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and supervise the monthly close process and complete monthly consolidation process
- Preparation of workpapers supporting the monthly close process and month end balances
- Preparation of schedules for quarterly financial statements and related footnotes (10-Q)
- Preparation of schedules for annual financial statements and related footnotes (10-K)
- Review all work prepared by the senior accountants
- Complete monthly actual vs budget analysis and prepare monthly board package
- Quarterly preparation of the year to date cash flow and equity roll-forward
- Preparation of workpapers supporting the annual tax return and coordination of the preparation of annual tax return with outside CPA firm
- Perform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances and maximize the return on any excess cash balances
- Provide cash forecasts for lenders, weekly
- Preparation of technical memos and complete adoption of new accounting pronouncements
- Serve as primary contact for external auditors
- Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls and processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Assist with due diligence procedures related to potential acquisitions
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited university
- Active CPA license
- 10 years of corporate accounting experience, with 3 years of Controllership experience at a public company or other heavy reporting environment. Prior Big 4 audit experience a plus
- Manufacturing company experience with hands-on inventory and assets accounting a plus
- Must have hands-on NetSuite experience
