The System Engineer/Administrator provides remote and onsite support to clients. Responsibilities include delivering superior customer service in a variety of technological scenarios requiring high-level analytical and problem-solving skills. Client environments may range from small single office businesses to multi-site wide area networks of large companies.
The System Engineer will often take the lead in projects and client communications, defining the experience with both our company and the technology solution. While working with clients, the Support Engineer will help clients identify opportunities to use technology more efficiently and plan for future development. In regular communication and under the supervision of the assigned System Architect, the System Engineer will support the life cycle management of client technologies. The System Engineer also is expected to be a point of escalation for the internal team, to take responsibility for high-priority tasks or client communications and provide technical knowledge and guidance, specifically around server- or domain-based objectives.
Responsibilities
Monitoring and technical support for client networks including computers, servers, switches, routers, firewalls and other specialty equipment
Support Microsoft server solutions both premise and cloud-based with varying complexity/functionality/uptime requirements dependent on client needs
Support server-based software solutions including Microsoft’s business product line, Azure integrations, and backup solutions Open, review, resolve, manage, close support tickets
Provide services via onsite appointments or remote system access/telephone/online session
Participate in delivery technology projects as support or project lead
Work as part of a team providing knowledge exchange and idea sharing
Assist management in the enhancement of products/services as needed
Train end users on the everyday use of their computers, servers and other network resources
Required Education, Certifications and Experience
At least ONE Microsoft Certification with server or equivalent product/application OR
At least Associates or higher degree college diploma
Advanced experience with Microsoft Windows Server Domain Environments using Server 2016 or later
Experience with Microsoft Active Directory using Server 2016 or later
Experience with Microsoft Azure / Entra environments and hybrid premise environments
Experience with Microsoft Desktop operating systems in domain environments, including Windows 11 24H2
Experience with Microsoft 365 Business cloud services/applications
Experience with Office 2021 or later
Proficient workstation and network-related troubleshooting skills
Standard understanding of IP networks
Work requires some physical effort in the handling of materials, boxes, and equipment

Good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
Self-motivated, self-directed
Willingness to deeply learn assigned clients environments to provide authoritative knowledge to the team on the environment and needs
Flexibility: task assignment, priorities, work environment, may require occasional schedule shifts for after-hours maintenance or project tasks
