Role: Pharmacist / Pharmacy Manager
Location: Fort Myers, FL 33905 (Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months (Strong potential to convert to FTE)
Work Schedule: - Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM ET
Overview:
- This opportunity is for an advanced dispensary associated with a large oncology practice. They serve the oncology practice population specifically. There are multiple teams and support structure in place for this well-established pharmacy.
- This role has a strong possibility to become a full-time employee as there will be on-site training involved as well as learning of existing processes.
- The Pharmacist-In-Charge is a crucial leadership role responsible for managing the overall operations of the team within the pharmacy.
- This position involves extensive management duties, including strategic planning, staff oversight, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and accrediting body standards. This role will also be responsible for coordinating clinical activities, optimizing pharmacy workflows, and maintaining high standards of medication management and patient care.
- The Pharmacist-In-Charge oversees oral and injectable therapy pharmaceutical care plans, including initial patient evaluations, development of care plans, and ensuring treatment plans are carried out.
- Coordinates with clinical providers to ensure all aspects of pharmaceutical care are delivered in a safe and timely manner. Dispenses medications according to professional standards and practices. Prepares and maintains all necessary records on prescriptions, patient charges, and inventory. Supports and adheres to the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Active Pharmacist licensure in all 21 required states
- Pharmacy management experience
- Specialty pharmacy experience (highly preferred)
- Experience with pharmacy accreditation standards (preferred)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Pharm. D. degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
- Minimum five years’ experience as a registered pharmacist.
- Oncology area background preferred.
- At least one to two years of prior supervisory and management experience required.
- Valid licenses in the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Idaho, Iowa.
- Strong knowledge of medication management and pharmacy operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Proficiency in pharmacy information systems and technology.
