Job Overview:
APTIM is seeking an experienced Senior Project Controls Consultant to support the one of the largest environmental remediation and landfill transformation projects in the United States. This role will provide critical project controls support, including cost control, forecasting, and scheduling, ensuring successful execution of complex environmental and infrastructure work.
The Senior Project Controls Consultant will deliver accurate and timely cost, schedule, and performance data, enabling proactive decision-making by project leadership while ensuring compliance with contract requirements and maximizing project profitability.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and project budgets in alignment with environmental remediation and landfill operations scope.
- Perform cost control activities, including review of timesheets, purchase requisitions, and subcontractor invoices to ensure compliance with approved budgets and contract requirements.
- Track, analyze, and manage change orders, including supporting negotiation and documentation of scope changes.
- Support preparation of client invoices, including cost backup, justification, and tracking of receivables.
- Develop and maintain CPM schedules using Primavera P6, including resource loading, progress updates, and re-baselining for approved changes.
- Implement and manage progress tracking systems for field activities such as capping, earthwork, gas collection, and leachate management.
- Monitor and report on labor productivity, equipment utilization, and production performance.
- Prepare cost forecasts and variance analyses, ensuring alignment with current schedule, vendor commitments, and production expectations.
- Support Earned Value Management (EVM) processes to track project performance against cost and schedule baselines.
- Prepare monthly internal and client reports, including revenue, margin projections, cost forecasts, and cash flow analysis.
- Ensure compliance with government contract requirements, including FAR, Davis-Bacon, and Service Contract Act regulations.
- Identify and mitigate project risks related to scope, cost, schedule, and environmental/regulatory constraints.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and field teams to support integrated project execution.
- Provide project closeout support, ensuring accurate financial reconciliation and documentation.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 10 years of relevant project controls experience
- Demonstrated experience in cost control, forecasting, and scheduling on infrastructure or environmental projects
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, including CPM scheduling and resource loading
- Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
- Familiarity with government contracting requirements, including FAR, Davis-Bacon, and Service Contract Act

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay rate for this position is $125 per hour. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
