Job Overview:

This position has tremendous flexibility, growth, and career development potential for a passionate geoscientist.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- The position will involve preparation of field sampling planning, field sampling and environmental site assessment (Phase 1, Phase 2, ESA), assisting with infrastructure construction projects dewatering treatment systems, overseeing contaminated soil/source removals, and assisting with waste disposal on petroleum and hazardous waste sites.
- Development of plans, specifications, analyses, evaluations, maps, position papers, procedures, and reports.
- Collection and interpretation of field, laboratory, and other scientific data.
- Ensure conformance to applicable technical standards as well as company policies and procedures.
- Review of applicable regulations that may impact project scope.
- Communication of technical concepts, evaluation results, plans, reports, etc. via oral and written reporting; and ensures conformance to applicable technical standards as well as company policies and procedures.
- Working with GPS, have a strong aptitude for the understanding and operation of field sampling equipment.
- Be willing to work long hours/out of town/overnights with a flexible schedule
Qualifications/Competencies/Experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in geology from an accredited university or college is required.
- Must possess excellent report writing, organization, and project management skills, with the ability to work in the field.
- Excellent field data collection and documentation
- Travel within Florida is required.
- Valid driver's license required
- This is a Mid-level Professional position. Three to five years of experience within in the environmental field is preferred with strong knowledge of Florida regulations.
- Demonstrably strong technical/scientific writing skills.
- Familiarity with the FDEP petroleum and Hazardous Waste Cleanup Programs, and FDOT transportation-related environmental projects are highly desired.
- Field work will include soil/groundwater sample collection using hand auger, drill rig, and Direct Push Technology (DPT) systems.
- Has in-depth experience, knowledge, and skills in own discipline.
- Works independently with minimal guidance.
- Uses best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve products or services in own discipline.
- Monitors and controls costs within own work as directed by APTIM Project Managers
- Manages own time to meet agreed targets; develops plans for short-term work activities in own area.
- Team oriented and communicates well with co-workers and supervisors.
