What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Chain Director position at Apt?
We’re looking for a strategic builder to own procurement, demand planning, inventory, logistics, and distribution. You’ll mentor a high‑performing team, standardize with Engineering to reduce SKU complexity, and deploy digital tools/AI that improve speed, visibility, and decision quality across lines of business.
What you’ll do:
- Build & develop the team: Lead Purchasing Managers and planners; establish training & cross‑training programs across functions and geographies.
- Own planning & S&OP: Drive documented, data‑driven forecasts using budgets, historical sales, promotional plans, and project schedules—delivering right item/right place/right time.
- Simplify service delivery: Partner with Engineering to standardize designs and cut complexity—fewer SKUs, lower inventory valuation, faster delivery, higher service levels.
- Supplier strategy & negotiations: Lead term sheets/QBRs; improve order‑to‑delivery turnaround, launch notifications, and supplier service levels.
- Automation & analytics: Champion digital tools and AI‑enabled reporting for forecasting, sourcing, procurement, invoicing, and performance dashboards.
- Inventory excellence: Set policy/governance to minimize obsolescence through proactive lifecycle planning and collaborative SKU management.
- Cross‑functional leadership: Align Construction, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, and each Line of Business to shared KPIs, clear decision rights, and transparent reporting.
What you’ll bring:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 years progressive leadership in planning, purchasing, and/or supply chain supporting highly volatile demand.
- Proven people leadership across multi‑site teams; strong organization, decision‑making, and follow‑through.
- Negotiation expertise with measurable supplier performance improvements.
- Excellent oral/written communication; fluency in Microsoft Excel and Office.
Preferred
- Experience in telecom or technical industries.
- CPM or related certifications (e.g., APICS CPIM/CSCP, Six Sigma).
- Familiarity with modern ERP/WMS/TMS and planning/analytics tools; enthusiasm for AI/automation.
Salary : $160,000 - $180,000
