What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Analyst position at Apt?
We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level QA Analyst to join our technology team and support the quality and reliability of software applications. This role is ideal for a recent college graduate or early-career professional looking to start a career in Information Technology, Software Testing, or Quality Assurance.
You will work closely with developers, product managers, and senior QA team members to test applications, identify defects, and ensure software meets functional and user requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute manual test cases for web and/or application-based systems
- Identify, document, and track software defects using issue-tracking tools (e.g., Jira or similar)
- Perform functional, regression, smoke, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Review business and technical requirements to ensure test coverage
- Collaborate with developers to reproduce issues and validate fixes
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
- Maintain clear test documentation, including test cases and test results
- Learn and apply QA best practices, tools, and methodologies under guidance from senior QA staff
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Ability to clearly document issues and communicate findings
- Familiarity with common software tools (Excel, browsers, basic databases, or ticketing systems)
- Willingness to learn QA tools, testing techniques, and industry standards
Nice to Have:
- Internship, coursework, or projects related to software testing or QA
- Exposure to Agile or Scrum environments
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, TestRail, Postman, or Selenium
- Basic SQL knowledge or understanding of APIs
- ISTQB Foundation certification (or interest in pursuing)
