What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Intelligence Developer position at Apt?
This opportunity is a direct-hire role that requires 5 days a week onsite in Jackson, MS. We cannot support a C2C arrangement or sponsor a working visa for this role.
The ideal candidate would have strong experience creating reports in Power BI and Tableau and using SQL often.
What You'll Do:
- Design, develop, and implement business intelligence dashboards using efficient techniques, reusable code and web services as applicable.
- Participate with implementation of documented reporting applications and improvement strategies; report problems to the software vendors, provide requested documentation, and track problems to resolution
- Develop and monitor procedures for the WebFOCUS server environment proactively for any issues and address access and performance issues
- Analyze requested reporting requirements and propose effective and flexible solutions
- Develop alternative solutions, as appropriate, and review with the Manger and Information team Develop logic charts, record formats, Metadata, and detailed technical programming specs Coordinate the creation or modification of database queries with the DBA’s as required
- Prepare documentation in compliance with department standards
- Develop/maintain self-service reporting applications that are flexible and scalable
- Develop/create data sources to connect to the databases to retrieve required data efficiently
- Develop test cases and scripts, execute the test plans, and evaluate results
- Troubleshoot user technical problems and ensures quick resolution with proper documentation Analyze and resolve testing issues and production problems as reported in the problem tracking system
- Develop and enforce the coding standards and conventions
What Your Background Looks Like:
- B.S. or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mathematics or a related field
- 5 years' experience with experience in a Reports Developer role with five years’ concurrent experience with Power BI, Tableau, WebFOCUS (nice to have), Reporting Server (iWay/EDA), and SQL
- 3 years’ concurrent experience with CSS, HTML, and JavaScript
