Summary:
Our client is a growing, partner-owned advisory firm seeking an on-site Vice President of Finance to serve as the senior finance leader for the business. Reporting directly to the COO, this role owns the full finance function — reporting, accounting, treasury, compensation administration, and systems — while driving a live NetSuite implementation. Ideal candidates bring finance leadership experience inside a professional services or advisory firm, a track record scaling finance in high-growth environments, and comfort operating across both technical accounting and strategic firm decisions.

What You'll Own
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
- Manage the general ledger, month-end close, AP, AR, and client billing across multiple engagement types.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and executive-level reporting.
- Administer staff and partner compensation, bonus accruals, and profits interests programs.
- Drive the NetSuite ERP implementation to go-live and integrate connected financial systems.
- Oversee treasury, daily cash management, and payroll funding.
- Build the firm's annual valuation and long-range projection model.
- Support risk management, vendor and partner contract review, and firmwide compliance.
Must-Haves
- 12–15 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with prior VP Finance, Controller, or CFO-level leadership.
- Finance leadership experience within a professional services or advisory firm.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven track record scaling a finance function in a high-growth environment.
- Hands-on ERP implementation experience (NetSuite or comparable).
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, ASC 606 revenue recognition, multi-state tax compliance, and internal controls.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a finance team and manage compensation processes.
Nice to Have
- CPA and/or MBA.
- Private equity familiarity.
- Experience administering partner compensation and profits interests (PIU) programs.
- Familiarity with Rippling, Expensify, Harvest, and Power BI.
- Exposure to partnership tax complexity.
