Come grow with us! We are adding a Quality and Reliability Engineer to our Sun Prairie Engineering team. If you have a STEM or Engineering degree and prior reliability experience analyzing data, prior experience explaining the story of the data, and a collaborative attitude, we want to hear from you.
This position is a hybrid role with 3 days a week required onsite our Sun Prairie Innovation Center.
- Serving as Reliability Engineer on New Product Development Cross Functional Project teams
- Assessing and addressing design risks associated with electronics and electrical components, mechanical systems, firmware, and IoT products.
- Facilitating Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) sessions with engineering, quality, and operations teams to maintain accurate risk documentation and drive action closure
- Partnering with cross functional teams (Call Center, Engineering, Warranty Returns, etc.) to obtain product performance data in the field and transforming the data into facts and actionable items for these groups
- Planning and executing reliability testing on products and components
- Assisting in creating early warning systems such as service incidence rate by day of life, month of life, and year of life
- Assisting in categorization of data into buckets that can be categorized and actionable by function related to product quality such as customer instruction, packaging/shipping damage, etc.
- Supporting the administration of engineering field test, monitoring of field test--this includes traveling (mostly domestically) to field testing sites to observe both normal and abnormal installation, service, and application
- Supporting development of company’s quality and reliability metrics and programs and systematically improve reliability - quality assurance for all platforms
- Supporting product field failure analysis, warranty cost analysis, and cost of quality development
- Processing product variation notices to ensure compliance with UL or other agency requirements, drive corrective action of non-conformances where applicable
- Providing consultant or technical support to manufacturing/design partners on design validation testing, test procedure development, and test data analysis
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or related STEM degree (Electrical/Computer Engineering preferred)
- 3 years of relevant job experience in reliability, preferably in a manufacturing setting
- Knowledge of FMEA methods and problem solving skills
- Experience with Six Sigma tools
- Positive, collaborative, and energetic when presenting data to an individual or a group of people
- Ability to receive data and create graphs, Excel documents, or presentations to support actionable items
- Ability to travel domestically within the US (10% of the time) and potentially internationally in the future
- Work authorization required
