Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support children in both clinic-based (outpatient) and Early Intervention (EI) settings.
In this role, you will provide therapeutic services to children with sensory, developmental, and functional needs, helping them build independence in daily living skills. Services may be delivered in the clinic, home, or community environments, depending on program needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations (OT) and/or implement individualized treatment plans aligned with child goals and IFSPs
- Provide direct therapy services and family coaching
- Support the development of daily living, motor, and sensory processing skills
- Monitor progress and communicate outcomes with families and supervising OT (for COTAs)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in team meetings (e.g., IFSP, consultations)
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation (WebPT/EI systems) and meet billing deadlines
- Ensure compliance with clinic standards and/or FIT Program requirements
- Adapt treatment strategies based on child progress and clinical best practices
Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy or COTA program
- Active New Mexico OT or COTA license
- Pediatric experience preferred (Early Intervention a plus)
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- For COTAs: ability to work under the supervision of a licensed OT
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance (for community-based services)
